Although the title of this blog seems cheery, it is my attempt at sarcasm! It is cold out, and I think I can speak for most people in the lower mainland of British Columbia, that it feels colder than ever. Temperatures reaching minus 11. Something I do not look forward to when going outdoors. This weather chat has to do with my long, cold and stressful morning of getting to work. It is a Saturday. I dont work Saturdays, but I took the shift for one of the other receptionists A. for her, (it is close to the holidays, and im sure she had a family gathering, or christmas party to go to) and B. for the extra moolah I can get for my much anticipated boxing day extravaganza! It was not a big deal waking up at 6:45 to get ready for work. It wasnt. It also wasnt a big deal that I would have to work 9-6 today. It wasnt. BUT waiting in the freezing cold weather in my work clothes which may I remind you, that dress pants.. arent insulated. They are thin, and do not produce any warm, besides just covering your legs. Also, Leather dress shoes, are not warm either. I actually remember thinking that someone could break my toe off and I would not feel it, because they were so cold. So if that is not enough.. because obviously the title of this blog means something.. When I was waiting for my second bus.. 15 mins in the cold.. (remember how cold I am!) The bus drove right past me. When I waved at him franticly, all the bus driver could do was lift his arms in a I-dont-know-what-to-do motion. YOU DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO? did the brakes all of a sudden stop working? did you all of a sudden get amnesia and not know where you were or where you were going? did you forget that you actually had to pick up people at bus stops? If you could only be in the position I was in. Now in all honesty, If it had been warmer, I would not of been as mad as I was. Once the bus had passed, I actually felt like crying! Way to start a morning. And pretty much my day has been crappy. There isnt too much to complain about, but nothing to be excited for either..
BAHUMBUG!
Merry Christmas.
