I spent 5 1/2 hours at my work on a day that I didnt regularily work. I had told my boss that I would come in and help them do inventory for the end of the year. I hadnt really thought of it until the week prior to this added shift. The day before, knowing I would have to come in and help out left me regretting my decision to be helpful. I wanted to sleep in, work on my essay due in English, and study for my final coming up. But when I got there, I remembered why I said I would come in, my work family! Its true, working at a dealership means sales people are coming and going. I never know when someone is going to leave or get hired. But the regulars, and the service department make coming to work fun. As I partnered up with my friend and the service department assistant manager Caillie, I realized that I would in fact enjoy myself quite a bit.
The object of our day, was to go through each shelf, and count everything on that according to a sheet we had telling us the product name, and part number. Caillie and I were the quickest team, getting through quite a few shelves before the rest of the teams. I left earlier than the rest of the people, having told my boss that I had a family christmas party to go to. I went home and spent much needed time with my family. As we put up our christmas tree, I felt and reflected the feelings of having fun.
Having fun, does not need to be expensive, as I have learned, Its about spending time with people you care about.
ciao
K.
